Does the world really need another Bond fan site? This question flashed before me as I began to seriously consider starting my own web site.

Haven鈥檛 we all the information and dedication a Bond fan could want out there in cyberspace already?

But as soon as I asked the question, the answer appeared in the form of an email I had just received. It was from a follower of my video podcasts named Steve and he was asking me whether I was going to have another frugal Bond article or video up soon.

Steve went on to ask if there would be regular postings about new finds of Bond clothing and experiences on a regular basis and if not could I point him in the direction of other sites where he could gather information and begin his own experiences. He was looking for a place to post pictures and his own Bond Experiences where others could appreciate them. And finally Steve ended his email by linking me to a budget cardigan that fit the part nicely from Quantum of Solace. In one fell swoop, Steve had taken me for a digital ride around the Bond Experience of sharing experiences, information, and connections without even knowing it.

The timing of this email and my thoughts around a web site could not be ignored.

David and Scott

David and Scott hard at play.

Immediately I sat down with my good friend and neighbor, Scott Hayes, who is a web designer, and described my vision. Scott did a wonderful job controlling my creative outlet and passion while asking all the right questions like, 鈥渨hat do you want this site to do?鈥 and 鈥渨hat is the value proposition around the contents of such a hub?鈥

Once we had the goals and trajectory of the site, we began the process of content. I knew content would be King so after discussing what made Bond Experience fans like us tick and what we crave, we moved onto the channel by which this info and insight would be delivered. I knew the videos were very popular and they were also a unique offering that most sites didn鈥檛 have. BUT, I also knew how much we Bond fans love to share and see what other fans are doing to create impactful Bond moments in their otherwise normal life, so that aspect had to be present.

We had to create a social site that wasn鈥檛 a forum and wasn鈥檛 just a blog. It had to be more.

Once we had the channels we moved onto the look and feel, to which other sites have raised the bar considerably. Then the details came such as setting up interviews, alignments, and opportunities to film The Bond Experience over a myriad of venues.

All of this has rolled up into what you see before you, The Bond Experience.

A site, a haven, a hub for all of us that have Bond-like moments in their lives either through the way they live or the experiences they create. On a daily basis you will be able to visit this site and collect, share, and live.

Bond once said, and I am paraphrasing, that he chooses not to spend his time prolonging his life but instead has chosen to live his life to the fullest. That鈥檚 what we intend to do and we intend to let you share your moments as well.

I am looking forward to the ride together…let鈥檚 begin!
