Recently my wife entered a competition for the chance to meet Richard Kiel and Honour Blackman (aka Jaws and Pussy Galore) at the Bond in Motion exhibition at the national motor museum Beaulieu. Amazingly we won and on the appointed day we found ourselves and another lucky winner waiting for a VIP meeting with the stars. We were lucky enough to have about 15 minutes with them just talking and having our photos taken with them.
Richard is a lovely person and talked with my two young daughters about his part in their favorite kids animation Tangled, giving them both a signed still from the film. And Honour is a beautiful elegant lady and spoke with my wife and I about Bond and her favorite Bond Sean Connery as well as signing a still for me. Both stars were also kind enough to pose for photos with my family and I.
By the time came for us to leave the stars so that other people could meet them I had a massive smile on my face after such an amazing time. This smile only got bigger when we were told we had another VIP experience waiting for us, the museum going to let us have our picture taken in the Aston Martin DBS from Quantum of Solace. I couldn’t believe our luck!
Finally to top the day off I was given a goody bag containing a copy of the Bond Encyclopedia signed by Sir Roger More, a 007 Mug and collectible Car and guide to the Bond in Motion exhibit.
Needless to say we all had a fantastic day and just in time as the the exhibit ends in January 2014.
I am glad you had a nice time meeting Richard Kiel. I too found him to be so kind as he took a lot of time visiting with his fans at a memorabilia signing in Las Vegas. I wrote about it at LiveTheBondLife dot com
I was thinking… wouldn’t it be awesome to see Richard Kiel in another James Bond film, whether as Jaws or some other role? I support that idea for sure! 🙂
Congrats…that was definitely a Bond experience! Did you check the trunk on the Aston after?
