Wow David! You have the entire Shanghai outfit, which you look great in by the way. And, you look very Bond in it man. I could see you melting away into that “Bond state of mind” that only a good Bond outfit can provide. I have a budget version of this outfit, actually the first Bond outfit I ever bought. Anyway, for a recent engineering grad who is still looking for a real job to better pay his bills and fund his “hobby”, seeing you with the correct pieces of the outfit from head-to-toe was inspiring, to say the least. It’s decided, I will definately be wearing my frugal version of the “Bahamas Return” outfit (which is attached to a really funny story I still need to try and get posted on here when I find some time); I could use a few bond moments myself today.
It’s easy to criticize James Bond’s tastes as too fancy or expensive, but I believe that the brands that he’s closely associated with– Turnbull & Asser, Omega, Persol, Brioni, Crockett & Jones– stand at the very top of what they make. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for, and the quality of products like these is worth the investment. In fact, I believe that sometimes it is actually less expensive in the long run to purchase the highest quality (which isn’t always necessarily the most expensive or the trendiest) as the products will both last longer and function better. I’m working on an essay on this subject but I’m not sure if it would be better suited for submission here or on Remmert’s site.
In the meantime, nice kicks! I’m sure you shuddered the first time you stepped onto that salt but as your videos remind us these Bond items are made to be worn and built to last! Glad you were able to turn Jersey Transit into a Bond experience.
I don’t know if David responded, but I buy all of my C&J shoes from the C&J store in New York. I live in Texas, so I just call or email them when I need anything. I have purchased 2 pairs of shoes from them (the Highbury and the Islay) and yesterday I had them send me some shoe care products. I buy my stuff from a woman named Ayree. I have always been impressed with their level of customer service and helpfulness. They are always very responsive to my questions and have helped steer me toward the right size and style. My C&J shoes are by far my favorite and most comfortable shoes I have ever purchased. You won’t regret the purchase. I hope this help.
the shanghai outfit is my favorite look from skyfall! beautiful boots aswell
Amazing boots… Its so true when you say that these are investments the quality of the box matches the quality of the boot itself.

Congrats David on the boots, question do they fit like the Church’s Ryder 3?

I’ve found a great budget alternative to these boots at DSW. Can’t speak about how they wear though.

Ok seriously… you’re right, what is with this square-toed craze that’s swept the men’s shoe industry like a deadly virus?
Those look like great boots, and I see they are in my size!
For the Frugal Bond, look at Aston Grey. The model
name is Haper. Very very close to the Tetbury. Got them
at DSW on sale for $55.00.
David, where do you buy your C&J shoes/boots from in the US?

David,
Thanks for all your great work! Where did you find the awesome Skyfall Lodge photo at the very beginning of this video? The panoramic image one.
